Oprah Knows THE SECRET - Law of Attraction Part of Her Success!

Saturday 17 February 2007 @ 7:49 am

Wow! Oprah did it again. For the second week in row, she featured The Secret on her show.

Let’s face it: Oprah knows and practices The Secret! She understands and has capitalized on the Law of Attraction and it’s no secret what sort of success she has enjoyed.

Earlier this year, I released my newest audio CD entitled “Affirmations For Attraction.” Until now, this program has been available only to some of my closest friends and clients. Now, it is my intention to share it with anyone who wishes to combine the proven power of positive affirmations with the spiritual manifestation power of the Law of Attraction philosophy.

The affirmations on the CD are all plainly stated in a personal, positive, present tense manner while beautiful Baroque style classical music softly plays to enhance the speed and depth of learning. Each affirmation follows the teachings of intentional manifesting as postulated in the Universal Law of Attraction

Confucius Says

Thursday 15 February 2007 @ 6:10 pm

I remember as child, my friends and I used recite the “so-called” sayings of Confucius as we found them stuffed in our fortune cookies.  Sometimes, in our playful childlike inappropriateness, we’d come up with humorous sayings like: Confucius say: “He who cooks carrots and peas (pees) in same pot is unsanitary”.

Now, as an adult, I enjoy reading many different philosophies, not the least of course is the philosophical and theological writings and teachings of my Christian faith, but some of the writings of great teachers from other times, other places and other theologies, including Confucius.

Some of the most fascinating things that Confucius spoke of addressed the nature of the character of who we are.  I thought I’d use this moment to share some of those profound statements with you.  Confucius addressed this by comparing the superior man to the small man.  Listen to these statements:

* The superior man is easy to serve but difficult to please.

The small man is difficult to serve but easy to please.

* The superior man can see a question from all sides. The

small man can see it only from his biased perspective.

* The superior man works to develop the superior aspects of

his character. The small man allows the inferior aspects of

his character to flourish.

* The superior man calls attention to the good points in

others. The small man calls attention to their defects.

* The superior man can influence those who are above him.

The small man can influence only those below him.

* The demands that the superior man makes are on himself.

The demands of the small man are placed upon others.

* The superior man is slow in word but prompt in deed. The

small man is quick to make promises but slow to keep them.

* The superior man is diligent in ascertaining what is

right. The small man is diligent in ascertaining what will

pay.

* The superior man is calm and at ease. The small man is

fretful and ill at ease.

* When things go wrong, the superior man seeks blame in

himself. The small man seeks blame in others.

* The superior man has the quality of wind. The small man

has the quality of grass. And when the wind blows, the grass

cannot help but to bend.

And finally, perhaps the most important observation:

* The small man thinks he is a superior man. The superior

man knows he is a small man.

Interested in learning more about Confucius and other great philosophical teachers but are afraid you the topic is too hard to understand?  Allow me to recommend Philosophy For Dummies.  In this refreshingly different guide, author Tom Morris not only explains philosophical fundamentals, but shows you how philosophy can help you find more meaning in life, understand religious belief, and look at the world in a whole new light.

Sweet Treat for Valentine’s Day!

Sunday 11 February 2007 @ 8:36 pm

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I thought I’d vary from my typical blog entries and offer something good to eat for Valentine’s Day.

Here’s a tasty treat for the sweetie in your life.

This is one of my absolute favorite recipes because I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER!  Enjoy!

Peanut Butter Cake

Ingredients :
Cakes
3/4 c unsalted butter
3/4 c creamy peanut butter
2 c packed brown sugar
3 ea eggs
2 c all purpose flour
1 tb baking powder
1/2 ts salt
1 c milk
1 ts vanilla
Peanut Butter Filling:
1 c cream cheese, softened
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
Chocolate Glaze:
1/2 c water
4 tb unsalted butter
1/2 c cocoa
1 c powdered sugar
1 ts vanilla

Preparation :

In large mixing bowl, cream butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Add brown sugar. Mix to blend. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to butter and peanut butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Add vanilla. Pour batter into 2 well greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until cake tests done, about 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack to room temperature before frosting the cake. Spread half of Peanut Butter Filling over tops of each cake. Chill. Spread half of Chocolate Glaze over peanut butter topping on each cake, using metal spatula dipped in hot water. Spread glaze over cake while glaze is warm. As glaze cools, it will thicken. Peanut Butter Filling: Cream ingredients together until light and fluffy. Chocolate Glaze: Place water and butter in small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add cocoa, sugar and vanilla to water mixture. Mix until smooth. Note: This recipe will make two 9 inch cakes or one stacked layer cake. If making the stacked layer cake, the Peanut Butter Filling should be put between the layers and on top of the cake before topping it with the Chocolate Glaze.

Happy Valentines Day!
